How to draw a diamond from a reference

Use the finished image above as a reference. These are copying tips, rather than an illustrated step-by-step lesson.

  1. Look at the diamond reference and identify its largest shapes. Lightly mark their size and position on your own paper.
  2. Copy the outside contour a small section at a time. Compare the space between lines with the reference before adding details.
  3. Add the smaller features visible in the image. Erase your construction marks, then leave the sketch as an outline or add your own color.
